Presentation to Oluwagbeye Ogunba and Patrick Speech & Language Centre

On Tuesday December 23rd, 2008, Fountain of Praise continued its social entrepreneurship effort by delivering proceeds of pledges made at its last Worship for Change concert to the Patrick Speech and Language centre [PSLC], GRA Ikeja. PSLC caters for autistic children.

On September 21st 2008, Fountain of Praise hosted its yearly benefit concert – Worship for Change in aid of two charities – PSLC and Hepzibah Orphanage based in Badagry. The concert  was sponsored by Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Legacy Realties, C&I Leasing Plc,  Marble Concept and Nadina Industries ltd. Others are Mascot Insurance Brokers, Laterna Ventures, Cityscape Nigeria, Modamo.com, Global Music, Protea Hotel [Victoria Island], Gig ventures, Kraft, One Gospel and DSTv.

Artists that featured at this concert were Lenny Leblanc, Jahdiel, Rooftop MCs, Cobhams Asuquo, Olufunmi, Erujeje and Gbenga Adenuga. Over three million naira has so far been donated by guests at the concert in aid of the two beneficiaries mentioned above.

Wale Adenuga, chief responsibility officer for Fountain of Praise presented a cheque of N750,000.00 to Oluwagbeye Ogunba, a four year girl with autism. This amount covers one year scholarship at PSLC. Additionally, 5 Dell desktop personal computers with accessories and an office photocopier were  presented to PSLC.  PSLC will also have its website designed and hosted with all expenses paid for.

In January 2009, Fountain of Praise will be presenting to Hepzibah Orphanage a brand new 20 kva diesel generator.

Fountain of Praise commenced the Worship for Change concerts in April 2006. That year, Fountain of Praise raised N1.4m for two charities: Downs’ Syndrome Association of Nigeria and the Hearts of Gold Hospice. In 2007, Arrows of God orphanage in Ajah were the concert’s beneficiaries. Fountain of Praise delivered and installed a brand new 60 kva diesel generator. They also got  a newly fabricated diesel tank in addition to 500 litres of diesel as well as 3 window units air-conditioners, all of these acquired at  costs in excess of N2.7m, all being monies received from guests at the 2007 Worship for Change concert.

Fountain of Praise aims through the Worship for Change concerts to use the influence they have in partnership with individuals and organizations who believe in this vision to empower orphans and specially challenged children to live more fulfilling lives
